I combined careful measurements of a Vandercook No. 4 clutch plate with a scan of the bottom to make a 3D model in OpenSCAD. To digitize the scan into a vector graphic I used Adobe Illustrator and Fontographer (the latter has some useful tools Illustrator doesn’t). Printing a solid brass plate on Shapeways is expensive (on March 10, 2023 it is $411), but it would be easy enough to modify the design to have a plastic body with a replaceable brass bar stock insert.
