Several Split Fountains is at once a wry homage to Ed Ruscha and a celebration of a printing technique. After a precise duplication of the typography of Twentysix Gasoline Stations, down to the dedication to Patty Callahan, there are 13 rectangular split fountains of solid color. A separate sheet, the “Table of Colors,” lists the names of the inks used.
